Job Description:

Overview:

Oversee and lead a team of technicians at the CBC to ensure functionality, reliability, efficiency and quality in the resort’s utilities, infrastructure and guest rooms while ensuring the highest guest experience quality.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Scheduling and daily approval of departmental hours.
  • Lead and direct the preventative maintenance of resort equipment.
  • Lead and direct the preventative maintenance of rooms.
  • Oversee all installation, repair and upkeep operations of the resort’s facilities.
  • Ensure all room and property related maintenance work is logged, supervised and billed to the relevant areas.
  • Liaise with external contractors and third-party services.
  • Develop, implement and maintain various maintenance and engineering reports and checklists and procedures.
  • Attend daily HOD meetings and other meetings as required.
  • Conduct daily briefings with department.
  • Ensure adequate stock of parts and material.
  • Carrying out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues.
  • Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance.
  • Assist with developing and monitoring the annual budget for regular operations, capital expenditure and utility consumption
  • Oversee the pool maintenance and operation keeping daily records of test results and chemicals.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Allocate workload and supervise staff ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Comply with the hotel’s mission and standards in performing maintenance activities.
  • Maximize maintenance team potential with a balanced focus on operations, guests, employee and owners’ satisfaction.
  • Attend EC and STRATA meetings where required while keeping a good relationship with the various stakeholders.
  • Respond to guests’ maintenance needs promptly and ensure guests receive professional, efficient, prompt and courteous service to hotel standards.
  • Take responsibility for the cleanliness and safety aspects of all plant and mechanical equipment rooms.
  • Train engineering department staff on correct maintenance procedures and assists in repairs as needed.
  • Develop, implement, and direct all emergency response programs.
  • Respond to emergency situations after normal workings hours

 

Requirements:

  • Sound knowledge of plumbing, HVAC, waste-water plants, generators, pumps, and electrical systems.
  • Experience in planning maintenance operations.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • Advanced Computer Skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering Preferred
  • 5 Years’ Experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge and operation of computer software – Workforce Management, HOTSOS, Opera, Excel, Word, Microsoft etc.
